Performance Analysis of Millimeter Wave Wireless Power Transfer With Imperfect Beam Alignment

In this paper, the impact of imperfect beam alignment (IBA) on millimeter wave (mmWave) wireless power transfer (WPT) is investigated. We consider a mmWave WPT network, where location energy transmitters follows Poisson point process. Instead mostly used flat-top antenna model, we adopt Gaussian model suggested by 3 rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) for better accuracy. Two error (BAE) models, i.e., truncated and uniform are introduced to represent different BAE sources. derive probability density functions (PDFs) cascaded gain with both models then provide approximated PDFs tractability. With help Fox's H function, analytic expression coverage nonlinear harvesting derived. Besides, deduce closed-form average harvested radio frequency (RF) energy. The simulation results verify our theoretical demonstrate performance degradation incurred BAE. It also shows that in scenario, can accurately networks actual pattern, while cannot always accurate evaluation.
